Angel Stallings

Angel Stallings is a dedicated and accomplished Certified Public Accountant based in Detroit, Michigan. With a passion for finance and a keen eye for detail, Angel has built an impressive career in the accounting field, making significant contributions to both large corporations and professional sports organizations.
Angel’s journey began at Central Michigan University, where she excelled academically, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Her focus on Accounting, complemented by a minor in Information Systems, laid a strong foundation for her future success. Angel’s exceptional performance earned her spots on the President’s List and Dean’s List, culminating in an impressive 3.93 cumulative GPA.
Upon graduation in October 2020, Angel wasted no time in establishing herself in the professional world. She quickly earned her CPA license in Michigan, demonstrating her commitment to the highest standards of the accounting profession.
Angel’s career trajectory has been marked by rapid growth and increasing responsibilities. She began her professional journey at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, where she served as an Associate, Intern, and Campus Ambassador from June 2017 to September 2021. During this time, she gained valuable experience working with a diverse range of clients, including partnerships, high net worth individuals, and corporations across various industries.
In September 2021, Angel took on an exciting role as Revenue Accountant for the Detroit Pistons. This position allowed her to combine her love for accounting with the dynamic world of professional sports. She managed nearly $40 million in revenue, coordinating with multiple departments to ensure proper allocation and recognition of funds.
Currently, Angel serves as a Senior Revenue Accountant at R1 RCM in Detroit, a position she has held since August 2023. In this role, she manages monthly close processes for multiple revenue streams totaling $2 billion, demonstrating her ability to handle complex financial operations at a high level.
Throughout her career, Angel has consistently shown a talent for process improvement and leadership. She has successfully shortened monthly close periods, developed clear procedures for workpapers, and implemented new financial processes. Her expertise extends to SEC filings, internal controls, and complex accounting projects such as financial restatements.
Angel’s technical skills are equally impressive, with proficiency in various financial software and tools including Oracle, Great Plains, Tableau, and Alteryx. She combines these technical abilities with strong interpersonal skills, having mentored interns and led teams throughout her career.

Rodgers earned her Bachelor of Science in Child Development from Madonna University in Livonia, Michigan in December 2012, building on her Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Wayne County Community College District, completed in December 2011. Her academic achievements are marked by membership in prestigious honor societies, including Phi Alpha Honors Society (Beta Gamma chapter), Kappa Delta Pi International Honors Society, and Phi Theta Kappa International Honors Society.

Rodgers’ professional journey began in 2009 at Focus: HOPE in Detroit, where she started as an Assistant Teacher in a Head Start classroom. She quickly advanced to a full Teacher position, demonstrating her skill in implementing the High Scope Curriculum model and managing all aspects of classroom operations.

In 2012, Rodgers joined New St. Paul Head Start Agency in Detroit, progressing from Assistant Teacher to Lead Teacher, and ultimately to Center Supervisor. In her supervisory role, she managed a staff of 13 employees, overseeing curriculum implementation, staff development, and communication with families and administration. Her responsibilities expanded to include liaison work with state licensing consultants and the Office of Head Start.

Since August 2017, Rodgers has served in a dual role as GSRP Lead Teacher and Director at Little Scholars CDC. In this position, she combines hands-on teaching with administrative duties, supervising staff, mentoring new employees, and facilitating parent engagement. Rodgers’ commitment to maternal and infant health is evident in her internship with NIA (Purpose) 4 Life, MIHP from 2017 to 2018. Here, she conducted patient assessments for pregnant women and children, developing care plans and providing crucial support during pregnancy and early childhood.

Throughout her career, Rodgers has maintained a strong focus on professional development. She is PQA and CLASS Reliable certified, a Professional Development Specialist with the Council for Professional Recognition, and proficient in various computer applications essential for modern educational administration.

Rodgers’ dedication extends beyond her paid roles. She is actively involved in several professional organizations, including the National Council of Negro Women, Michigan Association for the Education of Young Children (MiAEYC), National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and the National Black Child Development Institute. Her membership in these organizations reflects her commitment to advancing early childhood education and supporting the development of Black children.
